Description and history
The “Funk Arena” bowling centre opened in 2014 as a modern sports and entertainment venue with six classic nine-pin lanes and three ten-pin bowling lanes. The project was launched by world champion Árpád Antal and Karl Funk (owner of the lane-equipment company of the same name), with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sport and the local municipality. The investment was worth around €250,000, under a 15-year lease, after which the venue passes into municipal ownership.
The name “Funk Arena” comes from Karl Funk, whose company manufactures lane equipment, while the centre’s sporting spirit comes from Antal and members of the Serbian national team, including Vilmoš Zavarko, who took part in the trial opening and set records there.

Sporting importance and events
Since opening, the centre has hosted local and regional championships with bowling clubs from Bačka Topola, Feketić and Novi Bečej, and it is also a venue for the company league. Exhibition matches and the achievements of top players such as Zavarko have further boosted its reputation.
