The Cultural Centre (Dom kulture) of the Municipality of Bačka Topola was re-established by the Municipal Assembly in 1991. From the late 1970s until 1991 the main organiser of cultural life in the municipality was the Centre for Culture, Education and Information; when it closed, the Cultural Centre took over.
The Cultural Centre has a 240-seat theatre and a 223-seat cinema. It hosts touring theatre productions and concerts for children and adults in Serbian and Hungarian, and every year it hosts the municipal festivals of choirs, folk dance groups and orchestras for children and adults. It also screens new releases from the regular distribution programme and, occasionally, classic films of lasting value. The institution also has an exhibition hall for exhibitions by academic and amateur painters and ethno associations, as well as seminars and round tables.
Three children’s theatre groups work within the Cultural Centre under the joint name “Mosolycsalók” (“Smile Catchers”).
The Cultural Centre also runs the Local Heritage House, the Blacksmith and Wheelwright Workshop, the Local Archive and the Art Colony.
