Stara Moravica

Stara Moravica lies 17 km north-west of Bačka Topola. The village was settled in 1786 by Reformed families from Nagykunság. Interestingly, in 1896 the people of Stara Moravica were among the first to erect a monument to Lajos Kossuth – their Kossuth statue was the seventh such monument in the world. Visitors can also see the permanent exhibition of the local 9+1 Art Colony.

Stara Moravica offers hunting and fishing, as well as tastings of local wine and rakija (fruit brandy).

Stara Moravica – Swimming pools

The recreation centre in Stara Moravica has four pools: a 16 × 25 m swimming pool and an 8 × 10 m children’s pool, both with underwater lighting. The water temperature is 22–26 °C, depending on the weather.

Wellness pool – 100 m² of water, 90 cm deep. Solar collectors raise the water temperature by 2–3 °C, to 27–29 °C. Wellness features include a jacuzzi, hydro-massage loungers, neck and back massage jets, a waterfall, a water mushroom and an “Amazon rain” shower. It also has underwater lighting.

The fourth pool was completed in summer 2021. It has 460 m² of water and is 1.3 m deep. It is popular with young people who like to play ball in the water, and with adults who are less confident swimmers, as they can touch the bottom. The water temperature is 22–26 °C, depending on the weather.

The complex also has a snack bar selling food, drinks and ice cream.

Every year the centre organises a swimming school, night swimming, music events and other seasonal programmes.
